What are the features of Quartz countertops surfaces?

Quartz does not require waxing or polishing to maintain its' beauty.  It is heat resistant, resistant to scratches and the nonporous surface repels stains. We use several types of quartz, including Dupont Zodiaq ® Quartz, Staron, and Caesarstone.

How do I clean Staron, Caesarstone and Dupont Zodiaq ® Quartz?

Quartz countertops are virtually maintenance free.  Simply wipe the surface with a damp paper towel and a small amount of non abrasive cleaner like Formula 409.

Does Quartz have a warranty?

Yes, Quartz has a ten year limited installed product warranty.  All warranties are registered to the installation address, so they are transferable to the homeowner.

Is Dupont Corian ® stain resistant?

Yes. Dupont Corain ® is nonporous and therefore, stains cannot penetrate the surface - so it is easy to maintain and clean.  Unlike natural stone, Dupont Corian ® never needs to be sealed.

How do I clean Dupont Corian ®?

Just soapy water or ammonia based cleaner and damp rag is all that is needed to clean Dupont Corian ®.

Can I cut directly on Dupont Corian ®?

Since a knife blade may scratch the surface of Dupont Corian ®, it is recommended that you use a cutting board.

Will granite look like the sample I selected?

Since granite is a natural stone product, with variations of pattern, color and tone, it will not match most samples perfectly.  Variations are to be expected and are the source of its natural beauty. 

Can granite chip?

Granite will not chip under normal use, although a heavy object hitting a square edge could result in a chip.  A chip can be repaired with granite dust and epoxy mixture.

Can granite scratch?

Granite is one of the hardest stones and is extremely hard to scratch.

How do I clean and maintain granite?

Granite is a natural product and simple care will keep it looking beautiful.  Dust the surface frequently with a clean rag and to maintain the dazzling appearance, use mild detergent or stone soap and wipe with damp clean rag.

What kind of Sealer do you use on granite?

To help prevent possible stains from being absorbed by the stone, Counterfitters uses Dry Treat - Stain Proof.  It provides our customers with a 15 year warranty and does not require a yearly application.
